Think of Norway and pictures of mountains, fjords and beautiful forests come to mind. Why not explore the Norwegian forests and get a real taste of this nature yourself. Do like the locals and get ready for a unique experience in Oslo´s forest of the North, Nordmarka. Whatever the season we will guide you through the natural paths of the northern woods to a traditional Norwegian cabin where you will learn the true meaning of the concept ¨hygge¨(kos in Norwegian) while you sip a cup of hot chocolate and indulge in home-made pastries, all made fresh in the cabin kitchen.

Tour description

We start our 7 kilometer walking adventure at the Frognerseteren metro station and head to the cabin through the paths for 3.5 kilometres. We make a stop at a traditional cabin to enjoy a typical cup of hot chocolate and home-made pastries included in the tour price. After having enjoyed the fantastic view of the forest and the cosy atmosphere of the cabin we walk back to the starting point at the metro station located 3,5 kilometres from the cabin.

Skiing equipment in winter is not included, although we will assist you with the hiring of skiing equipment when needed.

What to bring

May to September: Dress according to the weather. Comfortable hiking shoes/boots, small backpack with water bottle extra warm clothes. Rain or wind proof jacket according to the weather.  Hat or cap, sunglasses and sun cream.

October to December: Dress according to the weather. Comfortable warm hiking boots, woollen socks, woollen thermal clothes, warm jacket, woollen hat and gloves.  Small back pack with extra warm clothes and drink. If there is snow, see requirements for January to April.

January to April: Dress according to the weather.  Cross Country Skiing equipment, woollen socks, woollen thermal clothes, woollen sweater and warm jacket, cross country trousers, woollen hat and gloves, tube or scarf. Small back pack with extra warm clothes and drink.

In Norway climate varies and temperatures can be very low. It is important to check the weather forecast and dress accordingly.
